About the Journal
The Calabar Law Journal is a prestigious publication managed by the Faculty of Law at the University of Calabar. Dedicated to advancing legal scholarship, the journal features a diverse range of articles, case notes, book reviews, and commentaries that address contemporary issues in various fields of law.
The Journal publishes original research papers on contemporary legal and socio-legal issues. Submissions must adhere to the following guidelines and, if accepted, will undergo a peer review process. Authors will be notified of the acceptance, subject to review, or decline of submitted articles. The submission guidelines are as follows:
- Originality: Submissions must be original, thoroughly researched, and must not have been published in another journal. They should not infringe on the personal and/or property rights of others. Articles must pass a plagiarism check before submission.
- Format: Manuscripts should be in Microsoft format, British English, double line spacing, Times New Roman font, size 12, on A4 format with all references in footnotes.
- Abstract: Articles must include an abstract of no more than 250 words.
- Length: Articles should not exceed 15 pages, inclusive of footnotes, which must be numbered consecutively throughout the text with Arabic numerals.
- Submission: Submissions should be electronic and sent to unicallawjournal@gmail.com. Submissions will be acknowledged by e-mail. Inquiries should be directed to the Editor at the same e-mail address.
- Author Information: Addresses, contact details, and/or institutional affiliations of authors, including e-mail, should be on a separate cover page and also asterisked at the footnote section of the first page.
- Citation: Authors are required to use the Nigeria Association of Law Teachers (NALT) Uniform Citation Guide - Style of Referencing.
All selected papers will be peer-reviewed by experts in the relevant area, and feedback will be communicated to contributors as appropriate.
